CHIEF OF POLICE
Salary $160,451 - $195,520 annually. Recognized as one of the premiere cities in the country, with an unsurpassed quality of life, Newport Beach is one of Southern California's most scenic, dynamic and popular beach communities. Under direction of the City Manager and serving as part of the City’s executive management team, the Police Chief is responsible for the administration, development, and advancement of the City’s full service Police Department. Requires a BA/BS (a master’s degree is desirable) and seven years of increasingly responsible supervisory law enforcement experience, including at least three years at the rank of Captain or above. Also requires possession of P.O.S.T. Management Certificate at time of appointment (possession of a P.O.S.T Executive Certificate and completion of Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy is desirable).
